Top Selling Cars of the year

Below are the top selling cars in this year

1. Hyundai

Hyundai Elite I20

Hyundai launched the i20 in our market as a premium hatchback and it has been on sale since 2008.
It was one of the first cars to feature Hyundai’s fluidic design in India.
The car was feature rich and was available in both petrol and diesel variants.
Hyundai has now given a major styling makeover to the car and revised the interiors calling it the Elite i20

Hyundai Creta
The Creta is Hyundai’s entry into the world of compact SUVs. Launched as the ix25 in China, this car is built to take on the likes of the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport and others in India and also in the global markets. The compact SUV, within six months of its launch, has climbed up to the top of the ladder of the compact SUV segment in terms of sales.

Hyundai Grand I10

Hyundai Grand i10 is the new entry-level diesel model for the Korean manufacturer. The Grand i10 slots-in between the i10 and the i20, offering stylish looks and many segment first features. The new model is developed in India and will soon be exported to European markets. The highlight of the next-generation car is the all-new 1.1-litre diesel engine developing 70bhp and 160Nm.

2. Tata motors

Tata Tiago

The Tiago gets the 1.2-litre three cylinder Revotron engine that develops 84bhp of power at 6000rpm and 114Nm of torque. The 1.05-litre turbocharged diesel mill churns out 70bhp of power and 140Nm of torque from 1800rpm. Both the engines power the front wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox. Driving modes – Eco and City are available on both the engines. Tata will certainly offer the Tiago with an AMT gearbox in near future.
3. Mahindra
Mahindra KUV100

KUV100 is Mahindra’s new entry into the compact hatchback segment. Built on a new platform, the KUV is the SUV amongst the hatchbacks with its larger dimensions. Mahindra has stacked up the KUV with features and technology to ensure that the new entrant has the firepower to compete with the established players in the segment.

Mahindra Scorpio
Mahindra has been selling its Scorpio SUV in the Indian market for over 12 years now and it has been a constant money spinner for the Maharashtra-based automaker. The SUV has received multiple updates with the most significant one coming in 2006. An all-new version was launched in the second half of 2014 and it gets a whole host of cosmetic updates as well as mechanical changes pushing it up to be the next generation of Scorpio.
it is being offered in five variants and two new colour options.

Mahindra TUV 300
Mahindra has opted for a conventional design and the TUV300 is a boxy-looking car. The front gets modern styling with the five slat grille and chrome surrounds. The Indian carmaker has taken the boxy design theme too seriously; everything at the front is either rectangular or square. The headlamps are angular, the bumper is a perfect rectangle and so is the air dam it houses. The fog lamps are square and completely different from the one we are used to seeing.
Mahindra tied up with the Italian design house Pininfarina for the TUV300 and the overall look is very international and some might say it looks like the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Mahindra Thar
The Mahindra Thar was first exhibited at the Indian Auto Expo in 2010 and ever since it has attracted a lot of prospective buyers, especially enthusiasts.
It is the first car from Mahindra to get an oil-burner BS IV CRDe engine and a soft-top. The car comes in three variants DI 4x2, DI 4x4 and the CRDe 4x4 with AC.

4. Reno
Renault KWID
The Kwid is Renault India’s latest small car on sale across India. With extremely competitive prices and a good blend of practicality and efficiency, the Kwid is the French carmaker’s take on the highly competitive small car segment in India. Named after the concept car that was shown at the 2014 Auto Expo, the Kwid finds its’ underpinnings on the Renault’s CMFA platform and is being produced at their Chennai factory with up to 98 per cent localisation.
Renault Duster
The Renault Duster will be remembered as a revolutionary product in India. Developed and designed by Renault’s Romanian subsidiary, Dacia, its arrival opened up a new segment of crossover SUVs since its launch in July 2012. Renault Duster ruled the space until Ford got the EcoSport – a smaller and cheaper car but with the same appeal. Renault has updated the Duster in 2016 to lend it a new lease of life.

5. Ford India

Ford Eco Sport

The Ford Eco Sport took the Indian market by storm when Ford announced the pricing of their sub-four-meter SUV. Undercutting its only competitor then, the Duster, the Eco Sport offered the sedan buying Indian customer a taste of SUV life. And with the love we have for big cars, the success of the Eco Sport did not come as a surprise at all. But, with the competition heating up, the Eco Sport slowly started fading away.
So now, with an upgraded engine and a slashed price tag, the Eco Sport is renewing its fight for the compact crossover segment.

6. Volkswagen

Volkswagen Ameo

The Ameo is the new compact sedan from Volkswagen.
Based on the Polo, the new model will be just under four metres in length to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and the Tata Zest.

Volkswagen Polo
Volkswagen launched the Polo in 2010 to compete with the Hyundai i20 in the premium hatchback segment.
The German manufacturer has been tweaking the Polo regularly with cosmetic and equipment upgrades to stay abreast with the competition.
Volkswagen also tinkered with idea of hot hatches with Polo GT series.

Volkswagen Vento

The Volkswagen Vento has been around for quite some time.
While the overall look and feel of the car has remained the same for years, it got a new heart and quite a few changes with its 2015 upgrade.
The model year update in 2016 adds a few more pointers to the list.

Volkswagen Beetle

Volkswagen offers the car in only a petrol variant powered by the 1.4-litre TSI motor making 148bhp and 250Nm.
The hatchback uses the seven-speed DSG gearbox to power the front wheels. The Beetle will be available in four colours – habanero orange, oryx white, tornado red and blue silk.

Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen India has launched the 2015 Jetta and it is available in three variants and six trim levels.
This is the second major update for the German automaker’s D-segment sedan since it was first launched and seems to be the most comprehensive one thanks to the changes its hatchback sibling, the Golf received when it was launched in Mk7 guise.

Volkswagen Cross Polo
Volkswagen has launched the new CrossPolo with a price tag of Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs 24,000 less than the Polo GT TSI. We were the first to break the story way back in December, 2012.
The CrossPolo is basically a Polo hatchback with additional body cladding. The ride height is slightly increased and a thick, matte plastic band extends across the chin, the flanks and around the rear. The wheel arches get the same treatment and there’s a scuff plate with a dull silver finish.
